Melchiore Buscemi, MD is a New York native. He earned a biology degree from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Buscemi was a volunteer firefighter and an outstanding cellist during his undergraduate years, performing in Off-Broadway productions all over New York.
Dr. Buscemi studied medicine at The Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico, with clinical rotations in Wyckoff Heights Hospital in New York City during his third and fourth years. He finished his externship at Queens Hospital in Queens, New York, and graduated from the State University of New York with a medical degree in 1984. Dr. Buscemi was the Lead Author at the time, writing articles in the journal 'UROLOGY' on genetics and virology.
In 1986, Dr. Buscemi graduated from the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York City with a degree in general surgery. He finished his Urology Residency at the University of Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York, from 1986 to 1989.
He began his work at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, after finishing his Urology residency. In 1991, he earned his board certification in urology.
Dr. Buscemi came to St. Lawrence County, New York, in 1992. He founded and managed St. Lawrence Urology Associates. He has worked at Canton Potsdam Hospital, Massena Memorial Hospital, and E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur, New York, for thirty years. He was the Chief of Urology.
